One drawer and one open niche, side by side beneath the top. The drawer runs on black metal extension runners and keeps remotes and coasters out of sight; the niche is open at the front for the books and magazines you want on hand.

Is the back of the table finished?

Yes. The back is a plain white panel in the same matt finish, so the table looks tidy from either side of the room. The drawer and niche open from the front only.
