FAQ

Is the Scala 2 drawer bookshelf solid oak?

No. It is particleboard and MDF with an oak-look melamine finish and a 16 mm top. The drawers run on black metal runners and have slim black pulls.

How is the storage split?

Three open shelves sit above two stacked drawers. Use the shelves for books and display pieces, and the drawers for stationery and everyday essentials.

Does it stand against a wall?

Yes. The side panels are straight along the back and slope at the front, so the bookshelf stands flat to a wall, with the panels deepest at the floor. It is not designed to stand out in the middle of a room.

Does it go with the 50 cm Scala bookshelf?

Yes. Both are 185 cm tall with the same oak-look finish and tapered side panels, and they can stand side by side along one wall.

Does the Scala 60cm 2 Drawer Bookshelf Oak need assembly?

Yes — it is flat-packed for home assembly.

How do I care for it?

Dust with a soft, dry cloth and wipe spills promptly; avoid harsh chemicals, prolonged moisture and direct sunlight. Wipe metal parts with a soft, dry cloth.

What is it best suited to?

It suits lounge room or study walls, display shelving with hidden drawer storage and pairing with the 50 cm Scala bookshelf. It is less suited to standing out in the room as a divider, buyers wanting solid-timber construction or large book collections needing many shelves.

Will it fit through my doorway and stairwell on delivery?

It is delivered flat-packed in a single carton measuring 197 × 44 × 12 cm (35 kg). The carton's narrow face is under ~70 cm, so it should clear a typical internal doorway — please still confirm against your own access. Please measure your narrowest access point — doorway, stairwell turn, lift and tight corners — against these carton sizes before delivery. Unsure? Ask our assistant with your doorway width.
