Description

Set up a compact workspace on a single wall. The Scala study desk pairs a work surface with open shelving above it, and a band below the desktop holds a centre drawer between two open niches. A low lip runs along the back of the desktop, and a rail below the desk ties the tapered side panels together. It is particleboard and MDF in an oak-look melamine finish.

Is the Scala desk solid oak?

No. It is particleboard and MDF with an oak-look melamine finish and a 16 mm top. The drawer runs on a black metal runner and has a slim black pull.

What storage does the desk have?

Open shelving above the work surface, backed by a panel. Below the desktop there is one drawer in the centre with an open niche on each side, for notebooks, stationery and everyday essentials.

Does it stand against a wall?

Yes. The side panels are straight along the back and slope at the front, so the desk stands flat to a wall. The panels are deepest at the floor, and the desk projects forward of them. It is not designed to stand out in the middle of a room.

Does it match the Scala bookshelves?

Yes. It shares the 185 cm height, oak-look finish and tapered side panels of both Scala bookshelves, so a bookshelf can stand beside it on the same wall.

Yes — it is flat-packed for home assembly.

How do I care for it?

Dust with a soft, dry cloth and wipe spills promptly; avoid harsh chemicals, prolonged moisture and direct sunlight. Wipe metal parts with a soft, dry cloth.
